Desecration of Quran, Mosques Rooted in Enemies’ Ignorance

An Iranian Culture Ministry official deplored acts of desecration of sanctities during the recent riots in the country, saying such acts originate from the ignorance of the enemies.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking in an interview, Hojatoleslam Hamid Reza Arbab Soleimani, the head of the ministry’s Quran and Etrat Supreme Center, said they think that by burning copies of the Quran or setting mosques on fire, they can undermine these sanctities, but the fact is that such moves backfire.

History shows that such actions will lead to more promotion of the Quran and elevation of the status of sanctities, he stated.

Since the advent of Islam, he noted, the more the enemies of the religion tried to sideline the Quran through different ways, the stronger the presence and brilliance of the Holy Book in society became.

Hojatoleslam Arbab Soleimani also referred to the massive presence of Iranians in rallies held to condemn the riots and acts of desecration, saying it demonstrated the fact that the people of Iran are always on the scene and the support their leader.

Violent rioters favoring monarchy have vandalized public and private properties in a number of cities across Iran in the past recent days, killing dozens of ordinary people and security forces and inflicting injuries on others.

People across Iran mobilized on January 12 to denounce the riots and acts of terrorism, reaffirming their commitment to the Islamic Revolution and condemning those responsible for disrupting national order.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has lauded the Iranian nation for the tremendous rallies and the historic day that they created on January 12.
